New consoles, same battle

This holiday season Sony and Microsoft are expected to launch their brand new systems, the Xbox one, and PlayStation 4. This being said there has been a lot of talk and discussion between gamers about the comparisons between the consoles.
Primarily it is popular opinion that Microsoft has seemed to fall out of touch with what loyal video game enthusiasts want from a video game experience. The Xbox one is currently sneered at by video game enthusiasts as being an over-glorified media gaming system. They are also instituting new rules such as; you do not have the ability to re-sell games as easily as you would with the Xbox 360. The official rule is that someone would need to be your friend for 30 days and a game may only be sold once. The game would then never be allowed to be resold. The Xbox offer requires constant internet connection, with the machine not allowing the further use of video game entertainment if the console has not "checked in" via online access in the last 24 hours. There is hope though, Microsoft has acknowledged that they are watching what players are saying, and state that they may change their stance on some issues. Another bright mark on the Xbox one's resume is that it seems to focus much more on games that will only be released on the Xbox, something gamers from Microsoft's camp have been bickering about for a while.
Meanwhile the PlayStation 4 is being heralded as the early champion of the upcoming console war. It has a much less strict line on requirements such as used game sales, and is commonly thought as the gamer friendly alternative. Also in a complete role reversal the PlayStation is expected to launch at the price of $399 U.S.D. Placing the Sony console for the first time ever as the console that is cheaper than the Xbox with an estimated price of $499. Though players often bemoan Sony's decision of finally requiring players to pay an access fee for online video game entertainment, much to the tune of what Microsoft has done since the Xbox; it is generally considered the more powerful console by many. Though of course waiting for official release will be best. Gamers all feel Sony made not making the console compatible with any of the PlayStation 3 or earlier titles. The Xbox One follows the same path.
All in all, this will be another heated console war, Sony might reclaim the crown that it once wore or Microsoft ride out the wave and be left sitting on the proverbial throne once again, it will be impossible to tell until launch, but many patiently wait.
